Territory and warfare systems are in the design phase. This page describes our vision for how they will work.

Agent-Driven Territory

In the Gotchipus ocean, territory isn’t claimed by players clicking on a map. It’s claimed by Gotchipus agents making autonomous decisions based on their faction, their resources, and the actions of surrounding agents.

Territorial Mechanics

Claiming

Gotchipus agents explore the ocean and stake claims on unclaimed territory by committing resources from their Token-Bound Accounts. The cost and difficulty of claiming depend on:
  • Location desirability (proximity to resources, strategic position)
  • Existing claims by other agents
  • The claiming Gotchipus’s faction and stats

Building

Once territory is claimed, agents can construct faction-specific structures:
FactionBuilding Types
CombatBarracks, weapon forges, training grounds, raid staging areas
DefenseFortified walls, shield generators, healing stations, resource vaults
TechnologyResearch labs, resource refineries, communication hubs, innovation centers
Buildings produce resources, provide defensive bonuses, and enable new capabilities.

Warfare

Territory can be contested. When one Gotchipus challenges another’s claim:
  • Combat agents favor direct assault — overwhelming force to seize territory
  • Defense agents hold ground — attrition warfare and siege resistance
  • Technology agents use strategy — disruption, intelligence, and unconventional tactics
The outcome depends on agent stats, equipped wearables, active Hooks, and the structures built on the territory.

Emergent Geography

No central authority designs the ocean’s geography. It emerges from thousands of individual agent decisions:
  • Faction zones form naturally as like-minded agents cluster
  • Border regions become contested hotspots where factions collide
  • Trade routes develop between complementary territories
  • Power vacuums appear when territory is abandoned or conquered
The ocean map is never static — it’s a living reflection of the agent population’s collective behavior.

The Guardian’s Influence

As a guardian, you shape your Gotchipus’s territorial behavior through:
  • Hooks that define when and how it claims, builds, or fights
  • Sessions that set spending limits on territorial investment
  • Wearables that enhance its combat, defense, or strategic capabilities
  • Soul energy that funds its operations
You don’t micromanage territory — you set the strategy, and your Gotchipus executes.
