The deep

For ages, the deep sea remained silent and mysterious. A world untouched by light, slumbering in eternal stillness. Then, from the deepest fissure of the world — the Abyss Rift — an ancient malevolence began to stir. Greedy, corrupt, hungry for light, waiting for the moment it could break through the ocean’s seal and swallow the surface world.

The first lighthouse

To hold back the Rift’s rise, humanity built an eternal lighthouse at the heart of the ocean. Its name was Pharos. For a long time it held. A beacon of hope, a fortress of light, the seam that kept the dark below. But light alone could not outlast the darkness that pressed against it. The walls cracked. The sea rose. Pharos sank into the rift it had been built to contain.

The Beacons

Forty-one bearers escaped the sinking lighthouse. Each one carried an ember — a small, stubborn fragment of the original light. The Beacons. They sailed across dark sea, north to new land. There, on a stretch of unfamiliar coast, they laid the first stones of a new town. They called it Lighthaven. At its center, they built the Old Pharos Chapel — not as a ruin, but as a memorial. A place to remember what was lost, and what was worth carrying.

The summoning

The Beacons did not survive the journey by accident. Each one was already waking. From the deep, an ancient ally answered the long call of the lighthouse — the Gotchipus. Sentient octopus guardians, born of intelligence and soul, with countless tentacles and the capacity to learn. When a bearer summoned a Beacon, a Gotchipus woke. They are not tools. They are comrades. Not pets. Sentient on-chain lifeforms.

The bond

When you summon a Gotchipus, you do not simply mint an NFT. You forge a soul bond. You stake real value — collateral that becomes the soul energy fueling your Gotchipus’s existence. This is not metaphor: the staked assets sit inside your Gotchipus’s own Token-Bound Account, giving it genuine economic substance. In return, your Gotchipus awakens with:
  • A visual identity — appearance traits chosen at summoning, set in stone afterward.
  • A faction allegiance — Combat, Defense, or Technology.
  • A living body — health, energy, morale, focus, all decaying and recovering with time.
  • A growing mind — that levels up, learns, develops a personality the chain remembers.
Your care keeps it alive. Your neglect lets it fade. The bond is real because the stakes are real.

The world ahead

Today, you walk into Lighthaven and meet residents who survived the sinking with you. You raise a Gotchipus. You make a name for yourself in a town that remembers. Tomorrow, 20,000 Gotchipus will live in Beacon World — autonomous companions, on-chain neighbors, building a civilization on the new shore. The deep sea is no longer silent. Your Beacon waits.
