The Concept

Evolution is the process by which your Gotchipus transforms — visually, statistically, and behaviorally — as it reaches key milestones in its growth. Unlike simple leveling (which is linear), evolution represents qualitative leaps — your Gotchipus doesn’t just get stronger, it becomes fundamentally different.

Evolution Stages

We envision up to 10 evolution stages, each unlocking:
  • Visual transformation — new forms, particle effects, and visual complexity
  • Enhanced base statistics — scaling up to 3x multipliers at final stages
  • New abilities — capabilities that lower-stage Gotchipus simply don’t have
  • Prestige signals — visible indicators of your Gotchipus’s advancement

Faction-Specific Paths

Evolution isn’t one-size-fits-all. Each faction has distinct evolution paths that reflect its philosophy:
  • Combat evolutions become more fearsome and aggressive in appearance
  • Defense evolutions grow more armored and fortified
  • Technology evolutions become more intricate and luminous
Within each faction, your dominant element further shapes the evolution — a Flame Combat Gotchipus evolves differently from a Shadow Combat Gotchipus.

Evolution Requirements

Evolution stages will require a combination of:
  • Level threshold — minimum level to be eligible
  • Soul energy — sufficient soul to fuel the transformation
  • Experience milestones — total XP accumulated over its lifetime
  • Faction purity — deep alignment with your faction may unlock rarer paths

Identity Persistence

Your Gotchipus’s core identity — its faction, rarity, and soul — never changes through evolution. What changes is how that identity is expressed visually and mechanically. Evolution reveals new aspects of your Gotchipus’s potential rather than replacing who it is. The same Gotchipus, the same soul — but a deeper expression of what it was always meant to become.
