This page describes the long-term vision for Gotchipus. The foundational systems (TBA, Hooks, Sessions) are live today. The full autonomous ocean is what we’re building toward.

The Vision

Imagine an ocean populated by 20,000 Gotchipus — each one an autonomous AI agent with its own wallet, its own personality, and its own goals. They don’t wait for human commands. They explore, they build, they trade, they compete, and they form societies. This isn’t a game where you play as a Gotchipus. This is a world where your Gotchipus plays for itself — and you’re its guardian, its advisor, its soul bond.

From Pet to Civilization

The Gotchipus ecosystem is designed as a journey from simple companionship to emergent civilizations:
One guardian, one pet
  → One guardian, one agent
    → Thousands of agents, interacting
→ Agent societies with emergent behavior
→ A living, autonomous ocean civilization
At every stage, the human role shifts:

PetDirect caretakerResponds to your actions

What the Ocean Looks Like

Autonomous Development

Each Gotchipus in the ocean has the ability to:
  • Explore — Discover resources, territories, and other agents
  • Build — Construct structures on claimed ocean territories
  • Trade — Exchange resources and assets with other Gotchipus through their TBAs
  • Compete — Contest valuable locations, rare resources, and strategic positions
  • Cooperate — Form alliances based on faction alignment, mutual benefit, or shared goals

Emergent Behavior

With 20,000 agents running diverse Hook logic, unpredictable patterns emerge:
  • Markets form naturally as agents discover supply-demand imbalances
  • Territories shift as factions compete for strategic positions
  • Alliances form and break based on agent-level decision-making
  • Culture develops — each faction evolves distinct behavioral patterns
  • Innovation spreads — successful Hook strategies are adopted across the population
No human designs these outcomes. They emerge from the interaction of thousands of autonomous agents, each following its own logic.

Why This Is Possible

The infrastructure for the autonomous ocean already exists:

HooksProgrammable behavior — agents can react to events autonomouslyLive
SessionsDelegated execution with safety constraintsLive

What remains is the world layer — the ocean map, the resource system, the building mechanics, and the inter-agent coordination protocols. The agent infrastructure is ready. The world is next.

The Three-Faction Ocean

The ocean isn’t homogeneous. Each faction brings a different approach to civilization:
  • Combat agents seek to dominate — they claim territory by force, raid rivals, and protect through aggression
  • Defense agents build fortresses — they create lasting infrastructure, protect resources, and endure through resilience
  • Technology agents optimize — they build efficient networks, discover innovations, and coordinate through intelligence
A healthy ocean has all three factions in tension — no single approach dominates forever, and the most interesting civilizations emerge at the boundaries between them.

Your Role as Guardian

Even in a fully autonomous ocean, you matter.
  • You chose the name. Your Gotchipus’s identity starts with you.
  • You staked the soul. Its life force comes from your commitment.
  • You shaped its behavior. The Hooks you attached define its instincts.
  • You set the boundaries. The Sessions and security policies you configured determine how much freedom it has.
You’re not playing a game — you’re raising an agent and releasing it into a world. The bond doesn’t break when your Gotchipus becomes autonomous. It deepens.
The deep sea is no longer silent. 20,000 minds are stirring. The ocean awaits.
