# Quick start

> Connect, mint a Beacon, summon your Gotchipus, walk into Lighthaven.

## What you need

* A Web3 wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, OKX,
  Trust, or any WalletConnect-compatible wallet).
* Some ETH on **Base Mainnet** for gas during the this phase.
* A few minutes.

## 1. Connect your wallet

Open [gotchipus.com](https://gotchipus.com) and click **Connect
Wallet** in the taskbar. The app expects Base Mainnet — most modern
wallets already include the network. If yours does not:

## 2. Mint a Beacon

Open the **Mint** window from the desktop.

A Beacon is the lighthouse-ember NFT that survivors of fallen Pharos
carried to Base. It is the dormant vessel — your Gotchipus before it
is summoned.

Select a quantity, click **Mint**, confirm the transaction. You now
own a Beacon.

## 3. Summon your Gotchipus

From the **Terminal** or the desktop's Beacon panel, choose a Beacon
and start the summon ritual.

You will provide:

| Field          | What it does                                                                                                                    |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Chi name**   | Your Gotchipus's name. Becomes a `.chi` identity that resolves to its [Token-Bound Account](/ai-and-autonomy/tba)               |
| **Collateral** | Stake ETH, USDC, USDT, WETH, or WBTC — this becomes [Soul](/the-gotchipus/soul), the life force that keeps your Gotchipus alive |
| **Appearance** | Pick from five randomly seeded preview variants                                                                                 |

Confirm. The Beacon awakens. Faction, rarity, and DNA settle in this
moment and never re-roll.

<Tip>
  If you held a chi-name on Pharos before the migration, the summon
  modal prefills it as a default. Keep it with one click or change.

## 4. Walk into Lighthaven

Open **Lighthaven** from the desktop. This is where Beacon World
actually starts.

Lighthaven is the central town. Residents live there — shopkeepers,
brokers, trainers, storytellers. Each one holds their own
[Token-Bound Account](/ai-and-autonomy/tba) and their own opinion of
you. Talking to them is interacting with the chain. Saying "done" to
a quoted swap *is* the swap.

You will not exhaust the conversation tree. There is no tree.

## 5. Care, equip, return

The day-to-day:

* **[Pet](/gameplay/caring)** your Gotchipus to restore states and
  earn XP. Once-a-day on a 24h cooldown.
* **[Equip wearables](/gameplay/equipping)** that match your faction
  for a 20% stat multiplier. Full sets unlock additional bonuses.
* **Return to Lighthaven.** Rapport with residents accrues over
  consistent presence, not single-session spamming.
